Troubleshooting During Disasters

Getting Disaster Information / Everyday Preparedness

In the event of a disaster, please follow the guidance and instructions of the Japanese government and the local government.

■Power failure and restoration information(External links)


*Please turn off the breaker if you leave the apartment during the power failure to avoid fire when electricity is being restored.
*In case you don’t have electricity even after the electricity is restored, please check if the breaker is turned off.

■Daily Preparedness for Disasters
  1. Decide in advance where family members will meet and how to be contacted.
  2. Check the designated evacuation sites in advance.
  3. Keep bath water for emergency. (However, families with young children should take extra care to avoid the risk of accidentally falling into the bathtub.)
  4. Secure drinking water and emergency food. (Biscuits, Bread, Chocolate, Instant noodles, Canned foods, etc.)
  5. Preparing for power outages (Flashlights and Candles, Radios, Batteries).
  6. Protections against cold, Survival kit (Helmets, Thick socks, Blankets, Warm clothing etc.)
  7. Knowing how to use Fire extinguishers and other emergency equipment in advance.

■Things to prepare on a Daily Basis
  1. Keep valuables and daily necessities in backpacks so that both of your hands can be free.
  2. Portable gas stoves and Gas cartridges.
  3. Blankets, Mufflers.
  4. Phone book and Coins for public phone use (when the phone lines are busy and disconnected).
  5. First aid kit (medicines), Sanitary products, Disposable diapers, Portable toilets.
  6. Knives.

■No Objects around Windows and the Balcony
Do not put things near windows and on the balcony railings. It is very dangerous as there is a chance of falling.

■Prevent Toppling Furniture and Falling Objects
In the event of earthquakes, falling furniture and objects can cause injuries. Please take preventive measures such as arranging furniture strategically and securing it with support devices to minimize risks.
