Fire alarm system / Equipment inspection

■Equipment description

Residential fire alarm
It is located on the ceiling inside of each unit. It can detect fire and make a warning sound, and the alarm goes off upon detection.


Automatic fire alarm system
When a fire alarm detects fire in each unit, a receiver in the common area turns on the alarm system for the whole building.

■Actions to be taken in case of fire
Please loudly notify other residents of the fire and call 119 (Japanese emergency call). Stay calm and evacuate to a safe place immediately. Please do not use the elevator, use stairs or evacuation devices instead.

■Response to false alarm
➀ If the residential fire alarm is triggered by a cause other than fire

・False fire detection
The fire alarm can be triggered by cooking smoke/steam or aerosol spray products. To stop the alarm, pull the string or push its button. The alarm will stop once the cause is resolved. 

・Time to replace batteries
The alarm sometimes beeps when it has weak batteries. In such a case, pull the string or push its button on the alarm to stop the sound. The fire alarm and batteries will be replaced by Daito Kentaku Partners. 
If the replacement deadline is near/overdue although there is no beeping sound, please contact us via  ruum and send us a  picture of the relevant fire alarm.

②If the automatic fire alarm system is activated by anything other than fire, do not stop the alarm, and please contact  Daito Kentaku Customer Support Center for an inspection by a specialist. If it is obvious there is no fire and if you have no choice but to stop the alarm, push only the “Stop-alarm button.” Do not reset the alarm system.


■Fire-fighting equipment inspection
By the amendment of Fire Service Act in 2009, inspections and reports are mandatory. Unlike the water or electricity, fire equipment is not used daily, thus, the periodical inspection is required to detect any malfunctions. If the equipment does not activate properly in case of a fire, the disaster can be severe. When you receive a notification, please co-operate with us to inspect or replace the equipment.
