Is it OK to make a contract with an electricity company of my choice?

Yes, please inquire the electricity company directly.
*For some buildings, it is not possible to change the electricity company because “Daito Kentaku” is the sub-contractor of electricity.

Please check [Sumairu-information (住まいるインフォメーション)], a list of utility companies, with the current electricity company. If it’s the case, it indicates “Daito Kentaku Partners” at the column of electricity company (電力会社の欄に「大東建託パートナーズ」).
To download “Sumairu information”, log in “ruum” and go to 「My room」＞「Information and contact details for living」＞「Sumairu information」
